“Camp chairs for harsh environments and urban settings give adventurers a serious level of comfort”

Seattle — (April 23, 2013) – TravelChair balances ergonomics while meeting the demands of harsh environments for its camp chairs. There is a lot of design input and thought that goes into each folding chair based upon real experience by real people living outside, who know comfort and quality gear inside and out.

“An example of this is the River Rat Chair. This was specifically designed to be the most comfortable river chair possible, not be afraid of abuse, to have quick dry time, all while fitting into tight spaces like a dry box on a raft,” said Daniel Roso, VP of Sales and Marketing for TravelChair.

In general here is what the Guides, like Dick Mattson of Arizona River Runners, have to say about the River Rat by TRAVELCHAIR: “The River Rat it is the perfect balance between light-weight, durable design. Provides more longevity than other brands and holds up well in the sandy, uneven camping conditions of the Colorado River at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The chairs are also able to collapse down to a manageable size allowing for ease of handling and packing on the rafts.”

“We bought the River Rat from TravelChair last July and had no break downs of any chairs our first season on the Middle Fork and Main Salmon Rivers – Idaho. With our old chairs, clients would break about 3-4 chairs a week, so we were going through a lot of chairs. Not anymore, best river chair available hands down,” said James Ellsworth owner Middle Fork River Expeditions.

RMI Expeditions climbers are shown in the photo sitting down to dinner in a TravelChair at Barafu camp (15,000′) the evening before making their summit bid on Mt. Kilimanjaro.
“Instant seating in one of the harshest environments you can imagine”, said Daniel Roso.

TravelChair doesn’t just design and build a chair for some environment. Our prototype chairs go into those environments and get tested and retested by gear experts with the directive to ride the product hard and leave it out to dry, then tell us what works and what doesn’t. In this way, TravelChair can enhance the design of their chairs and make certain they are built to withstand any element and also offer comfort.

Slacker Stool- 1389V

"I now keep one in my car ready for any type of activity where sitting is preferable than standing. You can insert your own activity here. The size make this easy to grab when in doubt, and has often served as a life saver.

Easily stored and low-profile. Almost no bigger or heavier than an umbrella. You will not complain taking it with you and will be rewarded by being rested and comfortable when you get up."

"After owning this chair for a little more than half a year, I can confirm that this chair is all-around amazing. It is extremely comfortable and it is pretty light weight.

As others have mentioned, the feet outperform other chairs that have straight feet in the sand. The feet design allows for the chair to sit on top of sand rather than sinking in.

My friends are always jealous when I bring this chair to the park (which is every time, since its so easy to pack). So much that we often end up taking turns on it
If you're debating whether or not to get it, do yourself a favor and just buy it!"

"Awesome sturdy comfortable chair. I don't know why but I am the King Champion of breaking folding camp chairs. I am 6'2" 295lbs and have broke many 300lbs rated chairs, one chair cut up the back of my knee pretty good when it failed.

My son is 6'7" 325lbs and plays major college football, he has not even come close to breaking as many chairs as I have. Well the Big Kahuna Chair is rock solid and comfortable I don't ever see this chair failing. If it ever does I'll post it."
