Camping Chairs are a major part of camping.  Letting you sit comfortably around the campfire, or relax in the shade on a hot day with a book. Good chairs are portable (without too much hassle), so when the smoke is blowing in your eyes you can quickly move to the other side of the campfire without having to completely dismantle your chair. A Great camping chair will also last, it should be built to withstand wet weather without rusting, and be able to support your weight (not just the weight of your 10 year old). Last, the best camp chairs should have storage built into them so you have a place to set your drink down, stow your keys or phone.  These things contribute to a great camping chair experience that will help you gain lifelong memories of wonderful times with your friends, family, or just quiet time by yourself.

Comfort

Comfort is king when looking for a camping chair. Our ideal camp chair is the Big Kahuna Model 599. It is so comfortable that it feels like you’re floating. You want to be able to sit comfortably all night or all day without having the urge to switch seats when someone is away at the bathroom. On hot days a comfortable camping chair will have enough ventilation so that your back doesn’t get totally soaked with sweat, but also enough protection so that your back isn’t frozen from icy winds.

Durability

Durability is important if you plan on using your camping chair for multiple seasons. You could get a cheap $15 chair at the chain store down the road that will fall apart before you know it, or you could spend a couple more bucks and get a chair that will last you much longer. All of our chairs are over built with the sturdiest of materials to make sure that you are getting both the comfort and durability that you desire. Our chairs have support systems that are made to last, and endure some of the harshest conditions you can put them through. Most folding camping chairs are susceptible to breaking at the joints after one season.

Ease of Use

Ease of use is important when you want to relax and take a load off. You don’t want to be messing around with a camping chair that has poles or other nonsense. Chairs like the Slacker Model 1389V are ready to go in just two seconds. Ease of use is important if you need to pack up and go quickly. It makes your whole camping experience easier and gives you less to worry about. We know how much there is to do and the last thing you should be worrying about is dealing with setting up or tearing down your camping chair.

Storage

Having storage on our chairs is a must. It often means taking fewer trips back to your tent or backpack because everything you need is right there. The more storage the better, and the Big Kahuna Model 599 is a perfect example of this. It has a large pocket, which means space for your keys, phone, a book, and so much more. This keeps the things you need off your lap and the ground, and right where you need it.

Packing Size

Packing size is totally dependent on how you camp. If you like to travel light and minimal, then we suggest a smaller chair like our Joey Chair Model 7789 or one of our camping stools. However, if you have lots of room available get something that takes up a little more room but will also be a heck of a lot more comfortable, like the Teddy Model 579V. Sometimes it’s nice to have a small chair with you on a hike. But if you plan on being in or around camp, or hanging out by the lake or your car, then go ahead and get a larger chair.

Usability

One thing rarely addressed is the need for multiple seating. Whether it is for your kid’s soccer game or family seating by the campfire, having to load and carry more than one seat can be a drag.  With our TravelBench team seating you can provide seating for up to 6 in one easy to carry/set up fold out bench. It is made of the same super sturdy materials as our chairs, but offers seating for so many more! No more running back and forth to get chairs for all the players, family or anyone else!

Slacker Stool- 1389V

"I now keep one in my car ready for any type of activity where sitting is preferable than standing. You can insert your own activity here. The size make this easy to grab when in doubt, and has often served as a life saver.

Easily stored and low-profile. Almost no bigger or heavier than an umbrella. You will not complain taking it with you and will be rewarded by being rested and comfortable when you get up."

    Joey Chair- 7789V

"After owning this chair for a little more than half a year, I can confirm that this chair is all-around amazing. It is extremely comfortable and it is pretty light weight.

As others have mentioned, the feet outperform other chairs that have straight feet in the sand. The feet design allows for the chair to sit on top of sand rather than sinking in.

My friends are always jealous when I bring this chair to the park (which is every time, since its so easy to pack). So much that we often end up taking turns on it
If you're debating whether or not to get it, do yourself a favor and just buy it!"

    Big Kahuna- 599

"Awesome sturdy comfortable chair. I don't know why but I am the King Champion of breaking folding camp chairs. I am 6'2" 295lbs and have broke many 300lbs rated chairs, one chair cut up the back of my knee pretty good when it failed.

My son is 6'7" 325lbs and plays major college football, he has not even come close to breaking as many chairs as I have. Well the Big Kahuna Chair is rock solid and comfortable I don't ever see this chair failing. If it ever does I'll post it."
