shutterstock_36229300-resizedAs the official count down to summer has now started, we’re all thinking about camping, hiking and, my favorite, BACKYARD BBQ! I’ve put together a wish list for the Backyard BBQ fan like me. Some of these things are more necessary than others, but hey, this is a wish list!

First, of course, is the BBQ itself. We all know you get what you pay for. There’s always the gas or charcoal debate. I’m a fan of both; they each have their merits. You choose.

6efffe3147cc50729d963ea4e913c2f9Gas: DCS 36” Propane Gas Grill on Cart – With a ceramic heating system that distributes heat, getting rid of those annoying cold spots, this baby will do wonders!

FIRE-MAGIC-24SC01C61-2Charcoal: Fire Magic 30” Legacy Charcoal Grill – Don’t let the look fool you. This sleek, silver beauty is one of a kind. Constructed out of stainless steal, it features an adjustable height charcoal pan for easy heat tuning and a front access door to add more charcoal or wood chunks.

Next we have to talk entertainment. Day time – You have your slip n’ slide and kiddy pool for the kids but if you want something not water related (read something for the adults) we have a few ideas here as well.

Tarp throwing game – cut different sized holes in an old tarp and reinforce the cuts with duct tape. Hang between two trees and assign points for the different holes. Have a several size/shape balls to toss through the holes. Great game for kids and adults.

Night time – We all love sitting around the fire and talking but here are some fun ideas to keep everyone entertained if the conversations starts lagging and/or you need a little distraction.

Outdoor movie theatre – Hang a white sheet, where you had tarp earlier in the day, bring out some pillows and blankets…….or TravelChairs! Setup your projector, either purchased or rented and start the show!

Glow Ring Toss – Pretty easy. Take some Glow Sticks and put them together as bracelets or necklaces and go for a few rounds of nighttime ring toss.

Décor – We have to touch on this but being a guy, I really don’t care much. I will admit, though, it does set the mood. Pinterest has lot of easy and effective ideas..

leahglass.blogspot.comReplace the light bulbs in an old chandelier with solar lights and hang from a tree.

gardendrama.wordpress.comHave a wooden fence? Drill a few holes in it and place some colored marbles in those holes. Just make sure it’s your fence and not the neighbors.

We couldn’t really leave this blog without talking about our favorite subject……CHAIRS!!!

Couple thoughts come to mind –

2189CBBK_1_2Lounge Lizard chairs. Extremely comfortable, but unless you have several sitting out, don’t even think it will be free when you get back from getting another drink.

C-Series Rider. I like to have a lot of chairs on hand so people don’t have to bring their own. The C – Series Rider is a great, cost effective chair and very comfortable.

The Joey chair. Super, super light and great to use around the campfire.

canyon-table-in-useTables. Side Canyon Table & Grand Canyon Table. I am also a big fan of tables; there’s never a place for your drink or food. Grand Canyon Table is great for the “conversational” seating or for regular height seating. The GC Table is adjustable so you can use it to eat dinner at and lower it down in the evenings when everyone is sitting around having a drink and talking. The Side Canyon Table works well too for having an individual table right next to you without taking up a lot of space. Made out of aluminum, they’re both lightweight and easy to move but sturdy.

Slacker Stool- 1389V

"I now keep one in my car ready for any type of activity where sitting is preferable than standing. You can insert your own activity here. The size make this easy to grab when in doubt, and has often served as a life saver.

Easily stored and low-profile. Almost no bigger or heavier than an umbrella. You will not complain taking it with you and will be rewarded by being rested and comfortable when you get up."

    Joey Chair- 7789V

"After owning this chair for a little more than half a year, I can confirm that this chair is all-around amazing. It is extremely comfortable and it is pretty light weight.

As others have mentioned, the feet outperform other chairs that have straight feet in the sand. The feet design allows for the chair to sit on top of sand rather than sinking in.

My friends are always jealous when I bring this chair to the park (which is every time, since its so easy to pack). So much that we often end up taking turns on it
If you're debating whether or not to get it, do yourself a favor and just buy it!"

    Big Kahuna- 599

"Awesome sturdy comfortable chair. I don't know why but I am the King Champion of breaking folding camp chairs. I am 6'2" 295lbs and have broke many 300lbs rated chairs, one chair cut up the back of my knee pretty good when it failed.

My son is 6'7" 325lbs and plays major college football, he has not even come close to breaking as many chairs as I have. Well the Big Kahuna Chair is rock solid and comfortable I don't ever see this chair failing. If it ever does I'll post it."
